There are many different roles that appear in filming, and even if just one person was taken away from this list, the filming would fall apart, even if they are not as important as the others. Here are 7 of the most seen roles.
Producer-
The producer is seen as the leader of the team, as they are responsible for the entire production. They are the ones who create initial ideas for what they are filming, and then makes sure everything from the script to the financing are taken care of. They also make sure that all the other people involved with the film is on schedule, and the money they have is enough for them to make the ideas come alive.
Director-
The director is there to make sure that the shooting is running smoothly and is in line with the film. The director is there to tell people what they need to do, but they are not in control of everything like the producer, and they would not be able to do their job without all of the other people who are part of the film, because they would have nothing to direct. However without them, nobody would know what they were doing or where they would need to go whilst they were filming.
Screenwriter-
The dialogue in any film is created by the screenwriter, who carefully creates a script to suit the film that is being produced. Not only does the screenwriter do this, he also makes sure that each scene flows well to the next, so that the viewer understands what is going on, even if the story isn't necessarily being told in a normal order.
Production Designer-
The production designer is the first person that allows a script to become visual, as they are the people who create all of the storyboards so that everybody knows what props need to be apart of a scene. The storyboards hold a series of drawings in panels that show scenes with not just dialogue, but actual images of what the different scenes are going to look like.
Art Director-
This role is the person who is in charge of all of the settings seen in the film, such as landscapes, or buildings, or even the interior of the house that the characters are in that can be seen in the background, which means that they are in charge of all of the props to make the viewer believe the characters are in a certain setting.
Costume Designer-
The costume designer is there to make the actors look like a believable character, for example they make sure that the character has clothes from the right time period for the film or allows the character to show off their personality through their clothing, which means that without the costume designer, the characters would not look right, and wouldn't fit with the themes they need to stick by.
Cinematographer-
The cinematographer is the director of photography, meaning that they are in charge of taking what's on the storyboard, and bringing it to life with the script. They do this by capturing the shots in the right perspective for the scene by carefully manipulating the camera, and controlling lighting and all of the other cameras.
