Primary Research

For my primary research I went into shops and looked at films that are made with animations. I did this to see what animations are mostly used and to see what videos are easier, and harder to create. It also showed me what types of animation was popular, and how a lot of animations that are made now use the same techniques, as no older animations are seen in shops anymore.

One film that I found was Alvin and the Chipmunks, which used computer animation to create the chipmunks in the movie. The chipmunks however were the only parts on the movie that were animated, as they wanted the movie to be realistic, so they used humans as well.

The other film that I looked at was Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which again uses both humans and animation in the movie, meaning that this is a popular technique used in movies today to attract audiences. But this movie keeps the animations and the humans separate, as the actual animation is very simple, as it is made to look like the paper from the books. However, there is one stage in the movie that quickly puts the human characters and the animated side by side, but that is only for a few seconds.
